We would like to keep a copy of your poster for the ACSYS CD-ROM that will be distributed with the Proceeding book. If you have a soft copy of your poster (PDF, Word DOC, PowerPoint, ...) please upload it using the AARI ftp site before November 30 , 2003. Enter the ftp address provided below into Internet Explorer (does not work with any other web browser but works with any ftp software). Please contact the AARI webmaster Vasily Smolyanitsky at vms@aari.nw.ru if you experience problems with the transmission.
- Username and password in ftp address:
- AARI ftp address: ftp://acsys:acsys2003@ftp.fram.nw.ru/acsys2003 (Works only using Internet Explorer
- Click on the posters folder
- Drag and Drop your poster using you last name as the file name
- Username and password entered by hand:
- AARI ftp address: ftp://ftp.fram.nw.ru/acsys2003 (Works only using Internet Explorer
- Inside browser window, right click your mouse to log in (choose Login as...)
- enter user name and password
- Username: acsys
- Password: acsys2003
- Click on the posters folder
- Drag and Drop your poster using you last name as the file name
You can also e-mail your poster to: acsys@npolar.no.

Note: Speakers at the conference must sent an extended abstract but poster presenters may also submit an extended abstract if they which to do so. Please respect the following deadlines.
There are two due-dates for extended abstracts:
- Young scientists receiving travel support: 1 November
- All others: 30 November
Please send your extended abstracts by e-mail to: acsys@npolar.no
or by ftp using anonymous username at:
File name
Name your files in the following manner: surname.doc or surname.pdf. The figures should be included in the abstract, but should also submitted as separate files using the same naming convention as the abstract document; i.e., surname_fig1, surname_fig2. If I were to submit a file and figures, these would be named villinger.doc and villinger_fig1.eps, villinger_fig2.bmp, etc.
Submission
The ftp sites listed below are eagerly waiting for your files. Please select the link that corresponds to the session where your abstract was presented, and place your documents there (click and drag, only works using Internet Explorer), using the naming convention suggested. You will not see the other files already submitted, and if you return to the site, you will not see your own file either, but you will receive confirmation of receipt within 24 hours. If you do not, please contact ACSYS. The ftp sites will shut down on Monday, 1 December at 10:00 (10 am Norway time).

As a legacy of the ACSYS decade, a CD-ROM containing information about Datasets, Publications and Web Links related to the Arctic and Climate will be produced. To ensure that your work is recognized as a contribution to Arctic Climate Systems Study, please help us to gather needed information by completing the simple questionnaire at:
http://acsys.npolar.no/meetings/final/quest.php
ACSYS is looking for information about datasets that are related to the Arctic and Climate. We want to help you to advertise your datasets so that your work is fully recognized. We are not trying to obtain the actual data from your datasets but rather the information about it so that other researchers are aware of your important contribution. Examples of typical datasets are:
- Atmospheric measurement in the Arctic
- Sea Ice Extent
- Ship cruises gathering oceanic information
- Others.
A paper version of the questionnaire will also be included in the conference Registration Package, which we ask you to complete by the end of the ACSYS conference.
With luck, your efforts will be rewarded with a special prize drawn on the last day of the ACSYS Final Science Conference. All those who provide information on their data sets will be entered into this draw.

- Information about airport/train pick-up, registration, etc. will be provided next week.
